Snoop Lion and Bob Marley

So, I am sure you heard that Snoop Dogg is changing his name to Snoop Lion. Upon Snoop’s visit to Jamaica he awakened to a new reality that he may be connected to the spirit of Bob Marley.

A few years ago my reaction would have been, “Yeah, right!” But today, knowing what I know about spirit, my reaction is “Right on!”  Like Snoop, I have gone through my own awakening and realized that there is more to us than what we can see. There is a part of us that is not yet explained and that part is one part of life that feels right and makes sense to me now.

I have been feeling the “changes” occur. I see it in our strong minded loving children, I see it people everyday who act randomly out of kindness and I see it in nature. I have had a feeling, possibly a premonition that some one that we all recognize would have an awakening and bring upon huge change; not just for themselves and their families but one they could share with the world. I saw this person as a celebrity or someone who is well know by the masses. This just might be it.

As anyone who awakens and chooses to share that part of their life with the world, Snoop will get a lot of resistance. He will face scrutiny and people plainly telling him he is crazy. While, the truth that Snoop is reincarnated as Bob Marley is only known by the Divine but for those of you who smiled funny at me when I considered Bob Marley to be a Divine Master…maybe I was not too far off. Once Snoop Lions first album comes out in the form of Rastafarian beats, it will be interesting to compare the two.

Check out these videos I found on the subject. What do you think?

August/September Creative Corner - Jill's Curiosities

I met Jill Hill a few months ago and I am sure glad our paths have crossed. Jill and I have many things in common. Can you guess one of the things we have in common? Yep, we are both crafty and operate with an entrepreneurial spirit sharing our creations with the world! Since we share this passion, I chose her for Creative Corner. Jill specializes in “Jilly Bags” and multipurpose clips.

Her “Jilly Bags” are multi functional pouches that are big enough to carry most anything you need and small enough to be handheld; making it perfect for hikes, shopping and any other activity you partake in. You could carry your camera, smokes and lighter (yuck, but you can), make-up, cell phone, money and any combination of items you choose! They are handcrafted with quality in mind and love through out.

Jill’s multipurpose clips are just as functional. They are creatively designed and make a really cool gift. You could wear them in your hair, hang them from your rear view mirror, attach them to your purse or come up with your own creative way of using them. After all, they are multi functional. Please tell me, which other functions might these wonderful clips serve?

You can find all of Jill’s Curiosities on her Etsy shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/JillsCuriosities.

Much love to you Jill!

August/September Creative Corner - Gary Swenor Photography

One thing you may not know about me is that I am a sucker for photography. I love all images in all forms and of all subjects. One of the things I love about photography is that the art captures a person’s perspective at a certain time and place that inspires them. Which is why Gary Swenor grabbed my attention.

Gary has been a loyal customer of my husband’s for a few years now and when I found out Gary was a photographer I knew that I could reciprocate the support by featuring him for my Creative Corner. Upon visiting his website, it was immediately clear that he knew photography and loved it. After reading Gary’s bio, my assumptions were correct; photography has been a rather large part of his life.

Gary began his love of photography back when cameras were loaded with film. Remember that? I do! He earned his master of Arts degree at San Jose State University and his undergraduate degree from CSU Chico. He has also attained both a single and multiple subject teaching credentials AND administrative credentials. On top of his wedding photography business , he teaches English at Yuba City High School where he is an adviser to the photography club.

Gary’s work has been featured in many different local publications and is an active member of the creative community here in Nevada County. When Gary does a photo shoot he teams up with his wife, Sue, who brings a feminine perspective and a knack for detail.

In his bio it states that, “throughout his distinguished teaching career, a camera has always been close by.” Now that is true passion!

Check out Gary and Sue’s work at http://www.garyswenor.com/. You will be pleasantly amazed!

August/September Business Worth the Buzz: Hand Made by Me Susan Perry

Yes, yet another friend of mine has plunged into the self employment pool! I have known Susan for some time now. I first worked under her at a local pet store, then tables turned and she worked with me at a natural body care company. Which tickles me because she now has her own body care line; it is funny how things work out.

In her body care line you will find lotions, lip balm, bar soap and scrubs. I have personally tried her Sierra Natural Lip Balm and I instantly fell in love with it. Her body care collection is literally handmade, with her hands and not a machine. The ingredients are pure and as natural as can be while sustaining a shelf life for her customers.

Susan does not stop there. She is also a seamstress and talented at other creative pursuits. As part of Nevada County Makes, you will find her at most street fairs and events. Her table is usually filled with body care, lamps, survival bracelets, totes, backpacks, quilts, wallets, hats and even trivets.

Check out her goods at http://www.nevadacountymakes.com/maker_store/hand-made-by-me-susan-perry. She offers them at a reasonable price and does not skimp when it comes to quality.
